DMF Seniors Work with DS Team to Publish Collaborative Podcast
Seniors in the inaugural Digital Media & Film (DMF) cohort shared their experiences with the new major in a collaborative class podcast that is now available online via YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, iHeartRadio, and more. The podcast was produced in the Fall 2024 DMF capstone seminar with support from the Digital Scholarship team, including the course instructor, Nicole Roche, and the Digital Scholarship assistants.
The collaborative project emphasized soft skills like project management as well as technical skills like professional lighting, multicam recording and editing, graphic design, and publishing for the web.
As Adri Nothnagle, Class of ’24, told fellow classmate Maya Mackey for the Hill News, “Taking the capstone course, and being a DMF major in general, has given me the chance to learn more about everything I was interested in within the real of media production. And I also learned more about stuff I hadn’t had experience with before, like sound recording and audio editing.”
Emily Boswell, ’24. agreed, noting, “This podcast is our chance to highlight all of the cool things about DMF, the things that set it apart from other major programs at SLU.”
