Wanjiru Mwathi, Class of 2026, is from Nakuru, Kenya, which is known as the “pink” city because of the huge population of flamingoes. She is planning to double major in Computer Science and Math with a minor in Statistics. She eventually hopes to venture into algorithmic trading in quantitative institutions. Her favorite leisure activities include cooking, singing, and reading articles in newspapers (print newspapers!).
Fun fact: She went to culinary school in Kenya during her gap year and learned 16 cuisines from all over the world. She is excited to incorporate innovation in her quantitative fields. Specifically, she looks forward to learning how to use A.I. She hopes to develop her tech skills and her creativity through photography in the DSF program, which will help her in her professional prospects and socially.
