Ayanda Mcanyana, ’24, is from Mbabane, Eswatini (Swaziland) and is pursuing a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics. She aspires to use the knowledge she gains from the Digital Scholarship Fellowship to find her place in the tech space and develop solutions to real-world problems. She is also passionate about inclusive feminism and advocating for LGBTQ+ rights. Ayanda wishes to inspire black women to take part in the tech space by making herself visible in the Computer Science faculty as a Teaching Assistant for an intro class. Ayanda’s other interests include reading African literature, joining clubs like the Dub club, where social issues about feminism are discussed, and the Association for Campus Entertainment (ACE) to foster social interactions amongst the student body
