The Digital Scholarship team is excited to announce the publication of an interactive map highlighting the grant-funded travel experiences of St. Lawrence University students. The map, which was created in collaboration with The Center for International and Intercultural Studies (CIIS), allows users to navigate a world map and click on locations associated with each grant recipient’s travel experience. Users can then view photographs and a personal essay provided by the student.

The map was created using a medley of open-source mapping tools. The DS team’s goal was to create an engaging user experience focused on the featured students and the range of destinations visited. Users can either navigate the map directly or scroll through previews of travel experiences via a sidebar menu, which link users to additional content affiliated with each travel experience.
