St. Lawrence University

Description

North Country Resource is a collection of resources that are the product of a sociology class at St. Lawrence University with an emphasis on community-based learning. The course, taught by Dr. Stephen Barnard, is titled Social Justice in the Digital Age and includes active engagement at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility (SLCCF).

With the shared goal of assisting the transition from incarceration to community integration, North Country Resource is the product of a collaboration between the students and faculty in the CBL group as well as incarcerated individuals and program officers from SLCCF. This site is designed to provide a directory of resources that may assist formerly incarcerated individuals with successful reintegration into the community with the help of available resources. It may also be helpful for others interested in public assistance programs available in the area of Northern New York that we affectionately call the "North Country."
