St. Lawrence University

Jake Malcomb is a 2010 graduate of St. Lawrence University, where he studied Biology and African Studies.  Since then he has pursued opportunities in ecological research, surveying forest health with the Forest Service in Colorado, studying climate change impacts on tropical forests at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama, and conducting Lyme disease research at the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies in Millbrook, NY. He has also led outdoor educational trips as a camp counselor in his Ohio hometown, and worked on a trail building crew in the Lake Tahoe basin. Jake is interested in issues at the interface of human and ecosystem health, and believes Nature Up North can serve to improve both.  An avid runner and mountain biker, he also enjoys skiing, strumming his guitar, and spending time on and around North Country waterways.
